Andrew is a contemporary guitarist and singer/songwriter. He has played music since the age of 6 when his parents sat him down at a piano and at 10 started his eight year love affair with the saxophone. It was at 15 he was given the task by his school music teacher to teach other students a song on the guitar - and then it was done. Eleven years on and it has never left his life. Song writing has been the major motivation for Andrew's interest in how to play this universally popular instrument and he quickly got involved in bands writing songs. After being involved in a myriad of groups in the eight years that followed, he and brother Anthony formed Acoustic/Alternative duo "Feint Ruled Line" in 2006 and later in 2008 they both joined newly formed Brisbane Alternative/Rock group "The Soundcasters".
After scoring a teaching gig earlier in 2009, he has divided his time between his bands, teaching, and studying guitar. He studies Pop, Rock and Blues styles while touching on Country, Funk, Jazz, Alternative and Composition and Arranging under the expert tutorship of professional guitarist of 26 years Clyde Schipke (AMEB Examiner CPM Guitar/Bass QLD). He is steadily acquiring more styles and skills to add to his bag of tricks. In July 2009 The Soundcasters toured the Eastern States of Australia with John Meyer after the release of their debut album "Unhinged" which is available on iTunes. Andrew can be seen performing in sibling duo act Feint Ruled Line and as the lead guitarist in The Soundcasters at various venues around Brisbane.
